Since our official Facebook page was founded in November 2013, Traditional Funerals has delivered in excess of 1500 funerals and with this huge effort in mind, I would like to thank the friends and supporters of the company and pay tribute to the ongoing work conducted by our staff. We have an excellent team who pride themselves on being a part of one of Queensland’s most comprehensive funeral companies.
The initial aim of our Facebook page was simple – to create community awareness to the work our staff conduct within the community and highlight the steps we are taking to develop our levels of funeral service delivery. Here is a selection of 5 key company developments since November 2013:
Facility upgrades
After many months of planning, March 2014 saw us take the first steps towards reforming the facilities at our Burpengary premises. Some of the planned upgrades include our crematorium, chapel, arrangement facilities, Internet connection & internal networking infrastructure, mortuary and gardens. The primary focus of these upgrades are not only to increase levels of professionalism about and within our workplace, but also put a real focus onto developing the technological capabilities of our company. For instance, our new chapel will have the ability to webcast funeral services through the Tribute Centre on our company website.
New website
In May 2014, we launched our new website. The aim of this project was to offer a window into our company and a location where families could get an overview of all the products and services we offer from the comfort of their own homes. We’ve still got some content to add, and some areas to tweak, but we’re pretty excited about the opportunities it gives us to serve you better.
Additions to our range of hearses
June 2014 saw the delivery of our Rolls Royce Silver Shadow hearse. The restorations on our Humber Pullman hearse were also completed in June and we’re happy to now offer these two beautiful classics as part of our fleet.
Funeral packaging
Until September 2014, as most funeral companies do, Traditional Funerals charged a single “professional fee” which normally covers the general funeral costs such as administration, service preparation and delivery. However, after careful consideration, we concluded that this single fee make it difficult to personalise funeral services and it has often been hard to really explain the value of this fee, especially when families are then charged additionally for a coffin, celebrant, cremation or burial fees and a host of other gratuities. Our solution to this problem was to re-think our entire approach to funeral service delivery and pricing and so, instead of a professional fee, we’ve created 5 individual funeral packages. Each of these incrementally and transparently priced packages contain all of the key elements required for a complete funeral with nothing more to pay. For those who wish to further personalize their service, there are additional options in several areas to accomplish this should you choose. This approach provides a unique platform for families to add value and personalised touches to the funeral without the burden of the hidden costs or details.
Community engagement
Every year we give back to the community by organising events such as fund-raisers for a variety of charities. We also sponsor many clubs and organisations, aged care facilities and mission projects. In fact, most of our staff are members at local service / sporting clubs and churches. In November 2014, our outreach team had the pleasure of spending Melbourne Cup day with the staff & residents of Seabrae Manor & Sir James Terrace – everyone had a great time and we can’t wait until our next outing at these fantastic facilities.
